What is a jrxml file and how do I open a jrxml file?

JasperReports is a very popular reporting engine that allows users to create reports. This application produces a variety of files and one of these files is the JRXML files. These files are known as JasperReports Layout Files containing definitions of report designs saved in XML format. The information these files include are the design elements, text fields, charts, variables, report layout, images, and parameters. JRXML files and JASPER files can also be combined in order to create reports. The Jaspersoft iReport is an application used to open JRXML files as well. This is known as an open source report designer for JasperReports because they are used to create layouts that make reports created more sophisticated since they contain charts, images, graphs, etc. It also runs on Windows, MAC and Linux operating systems.
